Genome sequencing of less than 1% Covid samples conducted in India - India Today

In India, genome sequencing of less than one per cent of Covid samples has been conducted. The government has admitted that it is now not feasible to conduct genome sequencing of five per cent of the country's Covid samples, as promised earlier.

Genome sequencing is essential to understand how the virus is mutating and how the treatment protocol should change accordingly. Professor Eric Ding, an epidemiologist, sheds some light on the same in this video.
