Honor has just updated its MagicBook series with the latest Intel processors. The MagicBook 14 gets a choice between the quad-core hyper-threaded Intel i7-1165G7 (reaching 4.7 GHz frequency) and the i5-1135G7 (4 cores, 8 threads, up to 4.2GHz) CPUs, while the bigger MagicBook 15 has only the second processor option. In either case you get the new Intel Iris Xe embedded graphics.
Beyond the new CPU the MagicBooks are a familiar affair. We reviewed and liked the MagicBook 14 with the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, and we outright loved the updated Ryzen 5 4500U version.
Now that Honor has also added an Intel options one imagines it will appeal to an even wider audience.
Honor will sell the MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 with 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The 1080 IPS LCD screens are 14” and 15.6” in diagonal, respectively.
Other highlights of the duo include a backlit keyboard, a pop-up camera in the F row of the keyboard and dual heat pipes with a cooling fan.
The 56Wh batteries in the two MagicBooks promise over hours of video on a single charge, and Honor is putting a 65W USB Power Delivery charger in the retail box that can charge from 0% to 44% in just half an hour.
The MagicBook 14 with the Intel i5 chipset starts from €849.90, while an upgrade to the Intel i7 comes with a price tag of €1,199.90. The MagicBook 15's single configuration costs €949.90.
Starting today, these laptops are available on the company online store in the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, with other markets to follow soon.
