Fortnite’s newest season is here and it’s bringing some serious star power to its new battle pass. For Chapter 2 season 7, Fortnite players will get their own customizable alien — in keeping with the theme of the season — as well as Superman and Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty.
Unfortunately, the season 7 battle pass only has the Rick half of the Adult Swim show’s dynamic and dysfunctional duo, so we’ll have to wait and see if Morty makes his way to Fortnite at some point during the season. On the other side, the DC universe has had many characters venture to the Fortnite island before — including a whole Batman spinoff comic — but this is the Man of Steel’s first appearance.
As with previous seasons, players will unlock these skins, along with dozens of other cosmetic rewards, by completing challenges and advancing the progress of their battle pass. Unlike recent passes, however, players will once again earn Battle Stars in season 7, instead of XP. The season 7 pass will also allow players to choose how they use their stars and unlock rewards in a different order, unlike previous passes which were always linear.
While some of the pass rewards and challenges will be available for free to anyone that plays the new Fortnite season, most of them will only be available once players unlock the full battle pass for 950 V-Bucks, or $9.50. If you start with the free battle pass, you can always upgrade to the full pass later without losing any of the progress you’ve made so far.
Players can purchase the Fortnite Chapter 2 season 7 battle pass in the in-game store now and starting working on earning their battle stars.
