There is a variety of different content to explore in Fortnite Season 6, and some fans are already starting to wonder what new features Epic Games has planned for Season 7.
While Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5 didn’t conclude with a live event as some fans hoped it would, Season 6 is still proving to be popular due to the new skins, crafting system, and tamable wild animals.
Now, quite a few players have started looking ahead to the next major update. There is mass speculation about when Season 7 will arrive and what it will bring to the battle royale.
Here’s what we know so far.
When does Fortnite Season 6 end?
The Epic Games website confirms that the Chapter 2, Season 6 Battle Pass of Fortnite, will expire on June 7, 2021. So, we can expect the season to end around that same time.
Sometimes, the developers decide to add more content to the battle royale than previously planned. If that’s the case, we could see Season 6 extended, which might last a while longer.

Fortnite Season 6 finale live event: Date, time, details
As with most Seasons in Fortnite now, Season 6 is gearing up to conclude with an exciting Live Event to take part in, like with Galactus, or a cool, cinematic video to enjoy.
As we mentioned above, Epic Games decided to end Season 5 with the Zero Crisis Finale, a solo experience that you could join at any time after launching Fortnite during Season 6. This new format encouraged more players to participate so that they could share the experience.
They’ve now decided to revert back to the Live Event format for the launch of Season 7. We’ll update this page once we know the official start time for the different main regions.
When will Fortnite Season 7 start?
Season 7 is expected to begin immediately after the ending of Season 6, on June 8, 2021. Epic Games added a splash image to their website to promote the coming update. This confirmed the release date and came with a cryptic message.
The image has a tagline that says, “they’re coming.” There are purple letters from a strange language surrounding the text, which also has a beam of light shining down from above, clearly alluding to the highly anticipated alien invasion.
What time does Fortnite Season 7 start?
According to the official Fortnite Status Twitter account, downtime for the Season 7 update will begin at 11 PM PST/ 1 PM CST/2 AM EST on June 7/8. Downtime usually takes around an hour to complete, so players will have to wait for a little bit before they can jump into everything the new period of content offers.
How much will the Season 7 Battle Pass cost?
Purchasing the Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass will cost you 950 V-Bucks. This will grant you access to all the rewards, cosmetics, and other included content. If you don’t have the required amount, then you can purchase more V-Bucks with cash.
The smallest bundle contains 1,000 V-Bucks and currently costs $7.99 / £6.49 to unlock the Battle Pass. If you want to skip 25 Tiers of the Battle Pass right away, then you can get the Battle Bundle, costing 2,800 V-Bucks.
If you don’t want to spend any real cash, you can always try earning V-Bucks in-game by playing through the current season. This is obviously slower than just buying them, but you’ll be able to save up the amount you need for free.
What will be in the Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass?
While we don’t know for sure what will be included in the Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass, Epic Games might capitalize on the different summer releases this year. Meaning we might see skins from new Marvel movies like Black Widow.
This wouldn’t be too surprising since Season 4 had a massive Marvel crossover with various fan-favorite characters like Iron Man and Wolverine becoming available.
What is Fortnite Season 7’s theme? Rick and Morty, Aliens, UFOS, Crop Circles
Season 6’s “Primal” theme lived up to its name, with various wild animals and raptors roaming Fortnite Island. It now seems that Epic Games are looking towards outer space for Season 7’s theme.
Season 6 introduced some new challenges called the Foreshadowing Quests, and each of these pointed towards the alien invasion. Now, UFOs have started to abduct players across the Island.
The abductees reportedly have their health regenerated before being dropped off at a completely random location on the map.
Another big mystery going on in the build-up to Season 7 has been the bizarre emergence of Crop Circles. Colossal Crops now has a giant Crop Circle in the middle of it, and more are expected.
Some new Fortnite leaks have emerged that point towards the arrival of new wild animals battle royale. According to data miners, we’ll see Kangaroos, Octopuses, and Platypus’ added in Season 7.
While it’s not clear how Epic Games plan to integrate these creatures into the game, we could see some new desert areas for the Kangaroos to roam around in.
Perhaps this will tie in with the alien invasion theme, and we might see Area 51 added.
A surprise teaser post by the official Fortnite Twitter account on June 7 showcased a video that contained the fan-favorite Butter Robot from Rick and Morty, so it looks as though there will be some content for Rick and Morty fans to enjoy in the new season of Fortnite.
As more rumors and details continue to pour in ahead of Season 7, we’ll update this article, so stay tuned!
