Xbox Game Pass video may suggest Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to the service - Video Games Chronicle

CD Projekt has denied Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Xbox Game Pass, after footage of the game was included in a marketing video for the service.

Microsoft released the video below on Wednesday to promote the launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming on consoles, which requires an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

As spotted by a Reddit user, the promotional video includes a short section of Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay originally included in an official trailer for CD Projekt Red’s game, leading to speculation that the title could be set to join Xbox Game Pass.

However, a CD Projekt Red spokesperson told VGC “there are no Game Pass plans for Cyberpunk 2077.”

Xbox Cloud Gaming Now Available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

Xbox Cloud Gaming allows players to access Xbox Game Pass titles without downloading them and jump into multiplayer sessions with friends for games that aren’t installed on the physical console.

It also enables Xbox One owners to play selected Xbox Series X/S games like Recompile, The Medium and The Riftbreaker via cloud gaming, with more to come including Microsoft Flight Simulator in early 2022.

Xbox Cloud Gaming for consoles launched as part of Xbox’s November update, which also includes new accessibility and controller features, and targets hardware shutdown issues when playing certain games, among other features.

November’s new Xbox Game Pass titles include Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, It Takes Two, Forza Horizon 5 and Evil Genius 2.

The launch of new Cyberpunk 2077 updates and free DLC was recently delayed from later this year to 2022.
