SnapPDF provides guidance on making the transition from PowerPoint to PDF - (OTS) News Southport

How to export a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) to a PDF document is the topic of today’s SnapPDF tutorial.

For this, we’ll be employing two strategies:

  • Converting PPT slideshows to PDF format.
  • Changing a PPT file into a PDF with SnapPDF.

The first option is to use Microsoft PowerPoint to export the presentation to a PDF.

The only real technical requirements for this method are a Windows computer running PowerPoint.

PowerPoint presentations saved as PDFs retain their original layout and cannot be edited. The new PDF can be viewed by anyone, but cannot be edited by the user.

Here’s how to convert a PowerPoint file to PDF format:

Pick Export from PowerPoint’s File Menu.

To save a presentation in PDF format, select the corresponding menu item.

To make a PDF or XPS file, select the corresponding button.

Select a destination folder in the “Publish as PDF or XPS” dialogue box. You can give it a new name by typing it in the File name box.

Modifying the look of the downloaded PDF before saving it

There are a few options available to modify the presentation of the saved PDF from PowerPoint. If you want better quality, choose “Standard” under “Optimize for” . Reduce the file size to its smallest possible increment by selecting “Minimum size”.

To modify how your presentation prints out in PDF format, click the “Options” button.

To help you decide, consider these possibilities:

When exporting a PowerPoint presentation to PDF, choose “Current slide” under “Range.”

You can select a subset of slides to export as a PDF by using the “From” and “To” boxes in the “Slides” section.

Under “Publish what,” choose the option that best suits your needs, whether it be to save comments, handouts, or an Outline of the view. The order of the slides can be altered and you can specify how many slides to view per page by using the corresponding drop-down menu (Horizontal or Vertical).

There is also the option for concealed slides. Frame slides, hidden slides, comments, ink, and non-printing information like “Document properties” and “Document structure tags” can all be included in your final PDF if you so choose.

To proceed, select “OK.”

Publish by selecting that button.

Option 2: Using SnapPDF to transform PowerPoint presentations into PDFs

  • Visit the SnapPDF website.
  • On the main page, click the “Online Tools” menu, then the “View all tools” option.
  • From the available options, pick “PowerPoint to PDF.”
  • Please drop the PowerPoint file here.
  • If you want to check out your freshly created PDF in your web browser, all you have to do is click the “Download File” button.
  • After that, your PDF is ready to be emailed or distributed in any other way you see fit.

Bottom Line

It’s only natural to want to convert from PDF to PPT at some point, given the prevalence of both file types.

SnapPDF works on a wide variety of platforms, and its cloud-based alternatives are accessible from any mobile device.

SnapPDF allows you to convert your PowerPoint files without an internet connection, and we’ll even throw in a few free trial days. Just give it a shot and see what happens!
