Windows 11 is taking a step further into the world of artificial intelligence with the introduction of Windows Copilot, its centralized AI assistant.
As confirmed by Microsoft, Windows 11 23H2 is coming in the fall, and it will ship with Windows Copilot. Windows 11 23H2 update is an enablement package built on top of Windows 11 22H2, which means it isn't a new version of the operating system.
As of now, Copilot is already in the preview stage and it comes with basic features, such as turning on dark mode, do not disturb, and more.
Integrating Bing Chat and several first- and third-party plugins, Windows Copilot aims to enable users to concentrate on their tasks and projects rather than juggling multiple applications.
Copilot lives on the taskbar, and its sidebar remains visible across your apps, programs, and windows, as a constant personal assistant. The feature aims to turn every user into a power user, offering assistance in performing actions, customizing settings, and ensuring seamless connections across favorite apps.
Windows Copilot enhances the existing features of Windows, such as copy/paste, Snap Assist, Snipping Tool, and personalization. For instance, you can ask Windows Copilot to copy, paste, rewrite, summarize, or explain your content.
Like Bing Chat, Windows Copilot is designed to handle a range of queries, from simple to complex. Whether you want to check the local time in Cyprus before making a call or plan a trip, including flights and accommodations, Windows Copilot is prepared to assist.
With Bing and ChatGPT plugins integrated into Windows Copilot, users can access AI capabilities and experiences. Moreover, developers will have new avenues to reach and innovate for their customers.
Microsoft encourages developers to be part of the Windows Copilot journey and invest in Bing and ChatGPT plugins for future benefits.
