Ever since it broke cover, the Kove 450R Rally has been making headlines for all the right reasons. After all, it’s capable, super bash-friendly, and one of the most affordable pure rally-inspired off-roaders out there. Now, however, there’s a new motorcycle that aims to check these boxes. We’re talking about the TX450R revealed by Chinese giant Keeway (official handler of Benelli). Though the full details aren’t out, the enduro bike already has plenty to excite enthusiasts. Here’s what you need to know.
CFMoto’s 450MT ADV Aims To Be The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452’s Kryptonite
The 450MT has a 449cc engine to produce 44 horsepower and 32.4 pound-feetThe Keeway TX450R Has A 449cc Liquid-Cooled Engine
Diving right in, the TX450R debuts a new single-cylinder powerhouse. It displaces 449 cubic centimeters (thanks to 94.5 mm and 64 mm bore and stroke) while boasting a 10.7:1 compression ratio and a single overhead cam. As a result, you have 43 horsepower and 28 pound-feet at your mercy. Both figures might be lower than the 52-HP and 31-pound-feet Kove 450, but they’re still adequate by 450cc adventure bike standards. The new Royal Enfield Himalayan and the KTM 390 Adventure both have outputs in the same ballpark.
Specification | Keeway TX450R |
Engine | 449cc, single-cylinder |
Power | 43 horsepower at 8,000 RPM |
Torque | 28 pound-feet at 7,000 RPM |
Transmission | Six-speed |
Coming to underpinnings, the TX450R features what looks like an aluminum chassis. It suspends on long-travel upside-down forks and monoshock, both with full adjustability. This is topped by a set of 21/19-inch spoke wheels. The front wheel houses a 270 mm petal disc, while the rear wears a 240 mm unit. Both ends have Nissin calipers and ABS. What’s most impressive, meanwhile, is the claimed dry weight of just 313 pounds. So even with its massive 7.4-gallon tank filled up, you’re still looking at a 365-pound heft. More dimensions are given below.
- Ground clearance - 10 inches
- Saddle height - 34.4 inches
- Wheelbase - 58.8 inches
- Fuel capacity - 7.4 gallons
The Keeway TX450R Looks Ready For All Things Off-Road
Design-wise, the TX450 follows the trend set by Dakar-inspired adventure bikes. It has slim bodywork up top, flanked by an MX-inspired fender and a windscreen. Behind this lies a flat single-piece saddle–perfect for moving around–paired with a long rear section. The bodywork is topped with a distinct V-shaped LED headlight and a fairly conventional, minimalistic LED tail lamp. What brings all of it together is a refreshing livery, complete with bright blue and orange finishes all around.
Once aboard, you’re greeted with a hefty dose of features. While the deets remain unclear, we can spot:
- TFT instrument cluster
- Twin charging ports (USB and 12V socket)
- All-LED lights
- Illuminated switchgear
